David B. Rudow

In Memoriam (1934-2021)

It is with profound sadness that Adelberg, Rudow, Dorf & Hendler, LLC mourns the passing of our named member, colleague, and friend, David B. Rudow on October 4, 2021.

For over 60 years, David Rudow combined the hallmark diligence of an accountant with his adept ability to resolve complicated business law challenges to better provide counsel and transactional support to clients in commercial legal matters. David earned his B.S. from University of Maryland in 1956 and then his JD there in 1960. He joined the Law Offices of Harry Adelberg shortly thereafter, and he served as managing member of Adelberg Rudow for several years.

Drawing from his background as a CPA and field agent for the Internal Revenue Service, Mr. Rudow was uniquely qualified to provide tax and business law representation for corporations, individuals, and closely-held private businesses involving business transactions, mergers, acquisitions, tax controversies, and stockholder disputes. He had extensive experience with real estate and healthcare professionals and also represented clients in all aspects of estate planning and administration.

Mr. Rudow was extensively involved in both local and national professional organizations throughout his career, including chairmanship of the Maryland State Bar Association’s Section of Taxation, chairmanship of the Baltimore Estate and Gift Tax Study Group, committee work in the Tax Section of the American Bar Association and service on the Board of Directors of the Baltimore Estate Planning Council. Utilizing his deep knowledge of tax regulations, David Rudow frequently lectured at a wide variety of seminars on a range of tax-related matters.

Mr. Rudow was also a past president of the Har Sinai Congregation, and a Fellow in the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel.

“We are greatly saddened by the loss of our great friend and mentor, David Rudow” said Managing Member, Oren Saltzman, “He was a man of honesty and integrity. A truly wonderful lawyer who advanced the legal profession due to his impeccable legal and ethical credentials. We will miss him very much.”

Mr. Rudow was the beloved husband of Vivian Adelberg Rudow, loving father of Steven, William (Gillian), and Leonard (Melissa), and grandchildren Alexandra, Michael, Hannah, Mollie, David, and Max.

Services were held on at Har Sinai Cemetery, 11405 Garrison Forest Road, Owings Mills, MD, 21117, on Wednesday, October 6th, 2021 at 12:00 pm. Funeral and obituary details can be found here.

The firm closed on October 6, 2021 in honor of David B. Rudow.
